Materials
Scraps of Worsted Weight, size 4 weight yarn Size H (5.0 mm) hook Tapestry Needle Scissors

Basic Stitches Used
Slip Knot: Make a loop; hook another loop through it. Tighten gently and slide the knot up to the hook. Chain Stitch (ch): Wrap the yarn over the hook in a counterclockwise direction. Draw the yarn through to form a new loop without tightening the previous one. Slip Stitch (sl st): Insert hook in next stitch as indicated by pattern instructions, yarn over and draw through the stitch and loop on hook to complete the stitch. Single crochet (sc): Insert hook in next stitch as indicated by pattern instructions, draw up a loop, yarn over, draw through both loops on hook to complete stitch. Half Double crochet (hdc): Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch or space as indicated by pattern instructions, draw up a loop, (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook to complete stitch.

Double crochet (dc): Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch or space as indicated by pattern instructions, draw up a loop, (3 loops on hook), yarn over and draw through 2 loops, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch.

The Pattern
With Size H hook, Chain (ch) 4. 1. Work 11 dc into 4th chain from hook. Join with a sl st to the top of ch 4. (12 dc) 2. (If making a multi-color flower, fasten off color 1 and join second color at the top of any dc.) Ch 2. 2 dc into same stitch. [dc, ch 2, sl st] into next

stitch. *[ch 2, 2 dc] into next stitch. [dc, ch 2, dc] into next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. 3. (If making a multi-color flower, fasten off color 2 and join third color behind row 2 with a sl st.)Working behind the flower, *Ch 4. Sl st into the vertical bar created from the sl st in the row before.* Repeat from * to * around. 4. Sl st into 1st ch 4 space. Work [ch 2, 5 dc, ch2, sl st] in the same space. *Sl st into next ch 4 space. Work [ch 2, 5 dc, ch2, sl st] in the same space. * Repeat from * to * around. 5. (If making a multi-color flower, fasten off color 3 and join fourth color behind row 2 with a sl st.) Ch 1. Working behind the flower, work 1 sl st into the same vertical bar as you did in Round 3. *Ch 5. Sl st into the same vertical bar as in Round 3.* Repeat from * to * around. 6. Sl st into 1st ch 5 space. Work [ch 2, 7 dc, ch2, sl st] in the same space. *Sl st into next ch 5 space. Work [ch 2, 7 dc, ch2, sl st] in the same space. * Repeat from * to * around. Fasten off & weave in ends.

Leaf (optional)
1. With H hook, ch 12. 2. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in the next ch. Hdc in the next 3 stitches. Dc in the next 5 stitches. Work 3 dc in the last stitch. Turn to the opposite side of the chain. Work 1 dc in each of the next 5 stitches. . Hdc in the next 3 stitches. Sc in the next stitch. Sl st in the last stitch. Fasten off leaving a 12 inch tail.

3. Sew leaf to flower.
