went for a camping trip to

Taman Negara. It was a school field tnp organised by her classmates. The purpose of the field trip was to study the different species of butterflies for their upcoming science project. They went jungle trekking on the trail carrying all their supplies and a net to catch butterflies. Suddenly they heard a loud roar. They panicked and hid behind the bushes. They were obviously frightened. Norashikin was whispering to her friends when suddenly a huge tiger approached. They waited silently and took a very slow breath hoping the tiger would walk away. Suddenly, Norshikin's mobile phone rang. The tiger turned its path towards the frightened young girls. The girls feIt doomed and
glared at Norashikin for allowing the phone to ring. They waited as the tiger looked at

them with piercing eyes. They could hardly breathe as their hearts raced and pounded in their rib cages. No one knew what to do. A few seconds felt like eternity. Then, there was a loud blast of gun shot in the air. To their amazement, the tiger turned around and ran away on hearing the shot. The girls were frightened but relieved. It was the ranger who had fired the shot. He had heard the roar and the mobile phone ringing and he knew that there were people around. The girls thanked the ranger and they quickly rushed back to the campsite. It was indeed a terrifying experience for them, but they learnt a very valuable lesson that they should not have wandered into the jungle without adult supervision.

Questions 38 - 40 are based on the extract from the short story Of Bung a Telur and Bally Shoes. One week before the wedding, ee qua 0 lama's clan converged on his mother's house. The cow that was to be the [auk for the day was kept ready under the rambutan tree. Jamal thanked it and said sorry that it had to die. He had a soft spot for animals. A temporary shed for cooking was being constructed. Huge kawahs were being scrubbed clean for cooking. All food for the guests would be cooked in the kawahs. The women folk were busy preparing a Master List of Things To Do and Who Was In Charged. They were generally ordering the man about, "Clean the kawahsi", "By this!", "Fix the curtains!", "Mop the flood", "Erect the tents!" etc.etc. Jamal suddenly felt that his Kelantanese ladies were really bossy and strident in their ways. He remembered how gentle his sister was before she married, but after that wow! His poor brother-in-law couldn't get a word in edgewise. He could not however, imagine his sweet demure, little darling would be ever be like that. In the final preparations, he was asked to fetch his wedding finery for a dress rehearsal. Jamal, excited to his toes quickly responded. The women folk fussed around him arranging his songkok, his selindang, and even the buttons on his baju gombang. Everybody agreed the final result was superb. The pale gold baju gombang suited his colour perfect. His height made the suit hanged on him so well and his selindang was of the right tone. Compiimcnts abound.
