Call for Submissions: Food Justice Film Festival – Oakland, CA November 6, 2011 The Food Justice Film Festival

is a program of “Food Justice: Honoring Our Roots, Growing the Movement”, the 15th Annual Conference of the Community Food Security Coalition. This November, the Community Food Security Coalition will be hosting its annual conference in Oakland, CA. With the support of local sponsors Food First/Institute for Food and Development Policy and the California Food & Justice Coalition, this event will bring people together to learn from each other and to shape the future of the food justice movement. As part of the conference, we will be hosting the Food Justice Film Festival on Sunday, November 6th, 2011. We are calling all documentary filmmakers, media activists, and food justice advocates to submit their long- and short-form non-fiction video works on the topics of food justice, food sovereignty, and local food. This nonjuried festival is an outstanding opportunity to share your work with a diverse audience from across North America interested in creating a more just and sustainable food system. Submissions: To submit your film, email with information about your film, including a brief description, year completed, running time, and any online links to websites, trailers, or completed works. Also include whether or not you would be interested in presenting your film in person at the festival. (Travel and other related expenses to be covered by the filmmaker.)
