Snowball Subtraction

Shuffle snowball cards and stack all cards face down in a pile. Students will take turns choosing one card from the pile. If they are able to give the correct answer for the subtraction problem, they can “throw” their snowball at another player of their choice by placing it in front of the player. If they are not able to correctly answer, the card will be placed in the discard pile. If a “You dodge a snowball!” card is drawn, the student who drew the card may keep it until another player “throws” a snowball at them. Then both cards will be placed in the discard pile. If a “Double Shot” card is drawn, the player may pull two cards from the pile. If the player is able to answer both cards correctly, they can play both cards against the player(s) of their choice. If they are not able to answer one or either of the cards, they will be placed in the discard pile. Play continues until one player has six snowballs (or another amount set by the teacher) piled in front of them.
