If you or someone you know suffered a disaster-related expense anytime between August 27 to September 25th you may be eligible for D-SNAP, or Disaster SNAP (Food Stamps). D-SNAP is a federal response to Connecticut being declared a disaster after Tropical Storm Irene. D-SNAP is different from SNAP as the income eligibility test is higher which makes many more people eligible than may be for regular SNAP.

If you or someone you know suffered a disaster-related expense anytime between August 27 to September 25th you may be eligible for DSNAP, or Disaster SNAP (Food Stamps). D-SNAP is a federal response to Connecticut being declared a disaster after Tropical Storm Irene. D-SNAP is different from SNAP as the income eligibility test is higher which makes many more people eligible than may be for regular SNAP. It is a one- time maximum benefit that is granted at the time of application. The benefit is available within 3 days of applying through an EBT card used at authorized food retailers. Households MUST have disaster-related expense(s) other than just the loss of food (loss of food is not a requirement however). Those currently receiving SNAP benefits are not eligible - they have received "replacement SNAP" earlier in the month to replace food lost due to the storm. Additional information:
