CONTACT: Danielle Tavernier Public Information Officer (407) 836-2361 September 23, 2011 State of Florida v Daniel Saylor Case # 2010-CF-518 Today the Ninth Circuit State Attorney agreed to allow a plea in the criminal case against Daniel Saylor. The defendant pled to: • • • Two Counts of Official Misconduct (3rd degree felony) One Count of Solicitation to Commit Official Misconduct (3rd degree felony) One Count of Solicitation to Tamper with Evidence (3rd degree felony)

As part of his sentence, the State is asking the defendant be adjudicated guilty and made to relinquish his law enforcement certification. The length of any sentence will be set at the court’s discretion. The State has provided the Court with 2,000 pages of discovery on which they may base their decision. Under Florida sentencing statute the defendant could face up to 20 years in jail. In return for the plea, the State dropped one count of Bribery and one count of Unlawful Compensation for Official Behavior because they were difficult to prove under the circumstances. ###
