As a child, the war in Somalia forced my family to move alot.

We first moved to Kenya, then to Canada, and finally to the United States. In the beginning, my lack of residency papers was always a primary factor. Whenever I applied for aid or schorlarships, I could not qualify due to the fact that I didn't meet the first criteria: "US citizen or permanant resident." I had a very good GPA, but this did not seem to matter. Money was also really tight. My parents gave me what little they could spare, but I still had to work in order to make enough money to pay my college expenses, and often still came up short.

During the last couple semsters of College, I was going through a divorce. It was a really stressful time. Inspite of this, i did not allow my GPA to suffer. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I have had to learn to work under extremely stressful conditions as well as under circumstances that produced a high degree of uncertainty.
