The Colour Wheel

The basic primary colours are red, blue and yellow. These colours are unique and cannot be made up by mixing other colours together. Most colours are created from these three colours. By combining the primary colours the next set of colours, called the secondary colours, is created.

Yellow and Red make Orange. Blue and Yellow make Green. Red and Blue make Purple. To achieve a tertiary colour, combine a secondary colour with a primary colour.

Blue and Green make Turquoise. Blue and violet make Oxford Blue. Yellow and Green make Lime. Yellow and Orange make Golden Yellow. Red and Orange make Scarlet Red and Violet make Plum.
