Apparel Position Announcement

The Apparel Design & Merchandising program at San Francisco State University is pleased to invite applications for a ten month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor starting August, 2012. Salary commensurate with qualifications. QUALIFICATIONS: Earned doctorate, or completed by August 2012, from accredited institution One degree in apparel or related area University or college teaching experience Experience using Adobe Creative Suite Apparel or textile industry experience preferred RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach three classes per semester in the following areas based on expertise: apparel construction methods, pattern development, draping, textile testing, historic costume Advise and mentor students Develop and facilitate partnerships with business and industry Infuse sustainability knowledge into curriculum Supervise M.A. culminating experiences Actively pursue research and/or other scholarly activities Provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession AVAILABLE: August, 2012 APPLICATION: Please submit via U.S. mail a letter of application, philosophy statement, curriculum vita, official transcripts, and references to include a list of three names, phone numbers, and email addresses to: Apparel Search Committee Chair Consumer & Family Studies/Dietetics Department San Francisco State University 1600 Holloway Avenue San Francisco, California 94132-4161 Please send email inquiries to kvuong@sfsu.edu.
