Short “e” Uno
“e” as in best “ea” as in head “ai” as in said
PREPARATION • Print, laminate, and cut pages 2-8 on card stock. PLAYERS • 2-5 players HOW TO PLAY • Shuffle the cards, deal 5 cards to each player, and lay the rest face down in a draw pile. • Turn the first card face up next to the draw pile. • First player must play a card that has the same short /e/ vowel combination or the same color as the mouse. If s/he cannot play, a card must be drawn until the play can continue. • The game continues with each player. • If a card with 3 colors is drawn, the player may use the vowel combination for the short “e” sound OR use one of the colors on the card to play. • If a paint jar is drawn, the player must “Draw Two” cards and the play goes on to the next player. • If a cat is drawn, the player must “Draw Four” cards and the play goes on to the next player. • The person who is able to get rid of their cards first is the winner!
