A petition letter to the Royal Canadian Mint: The Royal Canadian Mint recognizes the importance of many Canadian

communities, including Native American, Metis, Inuit, and Chinese communities in their collections of coins. The Muslim community of Canada would like to petition this outstanding organization to recognize us as well. Gold is a rapidly growing investment area, and the gold dinar is a staple in Islamic finance and culture. The sale of other Canadian gold coins has proven consistently to turn a profit, we ask only to expand the business ventures of the Mint to include a growing niche market, that of the Islamic Dinar. The Canadian Islamic Dinar would be a standard Islamic Dinar: 4.25 grams of 22 karat gold, but the motifs on the coin would tangibly tie the Muslim Community into Canadian Culture. The motifs could include maple leaves, a stylized caligraphic image including words such as "Canada" or the shahada, the world's most northernly mosque in Innuvik, or any of a great number of symbols of the unity of a Canadian Muslim identity. We hope this humble request will be recognized, so that we may eagerly take part in sharing financial and cultural gains with the Royal Canadian Mint. Assalaam Alaikum, Peace be upon you.
