Tricentia Academy, 2007-08
You are about to embark on a journey into the unknown!!!!!!!!
As part of the Level 2 Math Curriculum you are required to complete an
Independent Study Project. This research project must focus on a
mathematical topic that, preferably, sparks your interest and entices you
to delve into an in-depth study of the same. Choices for such a project
may include (but are certainly not limited to) the following:
N researching a new topic in the field of mathematics
N extending on a previously learned topic
N the life and contributions of a mathematician
N interesting mathematical problems and their solutions
N studying the connections between mathematics and another subject
N studying the connections between mathematics and any aspect of daily
life
N the Fibonacci Sequence, the Golden Ratio, the Divine Proportion, etc.
N any other topic approved by your math teacher
Some useful Internet sites can also be found on page 3 of this handout.
Projects may be completed individually, or in groups of no more than 2
students.
