1/10000 >>observations_. the university campus has good accessibility to all fundamental urban facilities including the main tansport to both the centre and to the regional as well as the local cores. The mapping shown on the left is made in the basis of one of the sections,TRANSPORT in BREEAM 98 for offices and EcoHomes 98 which are the official environmental assessments about the sustainable urban infrastructure. the good results under these methods mean a possession of a good sustainable urban system and so this system produces less CO2 altogether. In those assessment methods, the close local facilities are local stores and post boxes. the first ones are located within 500m from the campus entrance but the second one is not but within1000m from the same. however, the post office is located within 1000m, thereby this has to be created within the campus. All of them clarify that overall, the university campus is already equipped with better urban systems around it for living as well as for working.

A117, woolwich manor way main road.

This area holds three stations of the docklands light railways(DLR) including the termial, Beckton. the roads in this area are a dual carriage together with green areas. trees form edges of the roads. some of those 5 2 edges are moulded and shrubs. All this will contribute to reduce the CO2 emissions from the urban infrasturcutre by cooling the air and road surfaces and this existent green corridors are well connected and can be used for the planning of the school of architecture in order to create the pleasant air flows( air corriors along them from the fresh air from the dock in the south.)

There are three areas for the critical and further analysis with the aims for the interventions. 1) the CONVOY'S WHARF is the vast area of the development with an enormous potential of the economic growth. 2) the PEPYS ESTATE is a LIVING SPACE with good links to almost all necessary ACTIVITY SPACES within its proximity in the physical distances, 500m and 1000m, this proximity is defined in widely used environmental methods, EcoHomes. 3) the development area for the constuction of the secondary school.

overall, this emergent territory is comprised of diversely catergorized areas with flows, each of them has functional coincidences in the real world. they can be distinguished by the size and the shape and the clustering. the bigger the polygons become, the more they are remote and less DENSE. flows basically go inward when relevant parts are DENSE and go outward when they are less or much less DENSE. the most significant of all lies in the areas like & . these are called as often edges which exist between highly ordered or DENSE areas and chaotic or LESS DENSE ones. they have more free & open spaces which will contribute to resolve problems with the land use.

_emergent territory underneath the real world. 1/6250 1 2

public estates

DENSITY in this part is displayed by big VOIDS in the emergent territory. in it, CLUSTERING is made around those voids all points which form this territory are community spaces or open and green areas or playground thus, all polygons which belong to those points should be of equal importance except one which belongs to the mobile library. this is the temporary library which stops there for borrowing of books on Tuesdays only. at the heart of four voids, lie public estates which appears to be one of the reason why a enormous void is created in that area. the boundary of this emergent territory is coincidental to that of the real world. this is ROADS, OPEN & GREEN AREAS, THE VIADUCT OF THE NATIONAL RAIL WAY.

_mobile library one library bus comes and is open only on Tuesdays 11am to noon.

_public estates they are composed of three estates with the playground like the above.

points outside the system. points outside the system. thus, they are really FAR AWAY from the deptford city centre(deptford high st). therefore, major sport & leisure facilities are considered substantially DISTANT from the city centre. however, the existence of a tub station, surrey quay and its proximity to other two major sport & leisure facilities induce to think that, there are two big transport nods in the north & south ends of the site.

deptford green park Millwall FC stadium

VS the contrast between papy's park and deptford green park is interesting. the first one has emergent territory which is a void whereas, the second one has the boundaries which are reminiscent of ramps or paths.
creekside

emergent territories above the enterprize zones seem to be divided into fragments. the boundaries of those fragments are not coincidental to anything in the real world.
