Rep. Sosnowksi Responds to Governor Quinns Plan to Avert Closure of Singer Mental Health Center
For Immediate Release May 3, 2012 Contact: Rep. Sosnowski Phone: (815) 547-3436

Belvidere. . . State Rep. Joe Sosnowksi (R-Belvidere) released a statement on Governor Quinns decision to avert 1,900 layoffs and closure of seven state facilities. I am pleased to hear Governor Quinn has agreed to keep the Singer Mental Health Center open for the remainder of this budget year. I applaud the outspoken families of patients, dedicated workers of Singer and all residents of the community who demanded the Governor to rise above political games and not shutter the facility that so many call home. I look forward to future discussions on how the state can better address the needs, care and funding priorities for Singer and other mental health facilities across the state. ###
