August 2010 100gm Fingering weight yarn US 4 needles BO = Bind off CO = Cast on k = knit k2tog = knit 2 stitches together (decreases one stitch) kfb = knit in front and back of stitch (increases one stitch) pm = place marker psso = pass slipped stitch over the last knitted stitch s = slip sm = slip marker ssk = slip two stitches knit-wise one at a time, place left needle through the front of the 2 stitches on right needle, knit the 2 stitches together tbl = knit through back loop yo = yarn over (increases one stitch) Set up: CO 4 K1, pm, yo, knit to end Increase section: Row 1: Knit, Knit yo tbl, sm, kfb Row 2: Kfb twice, sm, knit to end Row 3: Knit to marker, sm, K 4 Row 4: S1 (slip the first stitch), ssk (do a slip-slip-knit on the next 2 stitches), psso, K1, sm, K to end Row 5: Knit, sm, K2 Row 6: K2tog, sm, yo, K to end Repeat these rows until half of yarn is used and ending on row 5, then begin decrease section: New row 6: K2tog, sm, K2tog, K to end New row 1: K to marker, sm, Kfb BO when you have decreased to 4 stitches in the garter section. Weave in ends, block lightly if desired.
