10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100 110 120 A Resolution Concerning MARRIAGE RIGHTS FOR SAME-SEX COUPLES WHEREAS: WHEREAS: All citizens are entitled to full and equal access of the law; and, Article 46 of the Constitution of Maryland explicitly forbids abridgment of rights based on sex; and, Maryland law discriminates on the basis of sex when granting civil marriage licenses; and, Said discrimination negatively impacts families with same-sex parents; and, Civil unions are insufficient and inherently unequal to civil marriages.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That the Maryland Student Legislature urges the Maryland General Assembly to pass legislation repealing the ban on same-sex civil marriages, thereby granting full and equal civil marriage rights to same-sex couples.
