Warrior Defense: Defensive Philosophy

We are a multiple front, gap control, secondary support, ATTACK and REACT defensive football team. Our base front has four down lineman and three linebackers (4-3).

Our defensive line play is based on quickness and movement. The purpose of this is to create penetration, confuse offensive lineman, dictate blocking schemes, and keep offensive lineman off our linebackers. Generally, our defensive lineman will attack through the V of the neck of the offensive lineman. Our linebackers will fill their gap of responsibility when threatened at the line of scrimmage.
The goal of the front 7, is to make the ball bounce east and west, by making a solid wall across the line of scrimmage. We will use our speed to pursue to the ball and make the tackle.

Discipline and effort are our 2 main priorities. All 11 players WILL be disciplined in carrying out each of their individual responsibilities. All 11 players will use maximum effort to pursue and get to the ball every snap.
Discipline, effort, and enthusiasm are the three key components for having a successful defensive football team

EACH GAP HAS A LETTER

ALIGNMENT RULES
A. We will align our players according to the strong and weak side of the formation. corners will align according to the wide and short side of the field. Alignment vs. double T.E. : Rush defensive end will align in a 7 technique in all of these fronts: (base, wild, stone , smokin, string, winde, wild) unless otherwise game planned.

B.

C.

Alignment vs. T.E. trade: Trade will be adjusted by our L.B.s, they will either walk on or off the LOS. The only adjustment our D Line will make will be by our defensive ends. A 9 Technique will have to kick to a 6 technique.(exceptions: front will end up in base straight remains straight)
