Purpose:

Teaches quick reactions to a fumble and fumble recovery (as opposed to advancement)

Procedure:

•Pair up the kids by size, and put them into a small area using tackling dummies to mark

•The coach will put a fumble in play by rolling or bouncing a ball between the players
•Stress the PROPER way to recover a fumble, which means not necessarily using the

hands

•Stress the actual fumble recovery over the players hitting each other first
•Players should use the “slide technique” where he uses his body to shield the ball from the
other player, then corral the ball to their body

•Players should NEVER dive directly on top of the football!
