1 Know the roles and responsibilities of members of musical ensembles.

 There are many different roles such as a performer, instrumentalist, vocalist, backing vocalist; leader, conductor, chorus master, bandmaster, section leader, leader of the orchestra; musical in an ensemble but first of all what an ensemble is. An ensemble is a musical ensemble is a group of two or more musicians who perform instrumental or vocal music. In each musical style different norms have developed for the sizes and composition of different ensembles, and for the repertoire of songs or musical works that these ensembles perform. There are many roles such as a one role found in a musical ensemble is a conductor. The main roles of a conductor are to keep time, control dynamics (how loudly or softly the music is played) and to control when different instruments are introduced. Another role could be a drummer.  Drummers keep the beat of the music by playing beats continually through the piece of music. Drummers keep the rhythm.  Guitar players have roles within ensembles. The lead guitar player adds another melody to the vocalist. The rhythm guitar player simply plays chords. In trios which include guitar, bass and drums the guitar player generally takes the lead.  An orchestra is a sizable instrumental ensemble that contains sections of string, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments.
