A COMPLETE RANGE OF HIGH PRODUCTION AND HIGH QUALITY FILM LINES

The HDPE extrusion process requires specific technology. Superior quality physicals and optical properties can be obtained running the bulk of todays polyolefins using low neck bubble configuration and technically standard extrusion screws and film dies. In comparison, HDPE processing requires that specific attention be paid to processing parameters and operating conditions. These crucial details will make the difference between simply changing raw materials in an existing line or changing raw materials and producing the high quality films that converters demand. Macchi has set out a range of specific film lines for low, medium and high HDPE production values, all incorporating the same superior standards in high quality design and construction. extruder L/D ratio of 25:1, in comparison to the typical L/D ratio of 30:1 for LL/LDPE film lines. cartridge screenchangers with high capacity filtering area, which reduces the working pressure and increase the intervals between screen changes. new generation compact extrusion dies. Less interior volume means lower die pressures, reduced material residence times and quicker material and color changeovers. high efficiency internal bubble cooling systems utilising custom engineered air blades for quick air exchange and improved bubble stability horizontal oscillating take off units to reduce film tensions. Completed with Teflon profiles on the panels, this system reduces the film friction that occurs as a consequence of the natural geometric deformation of the cylindrical bubble shape to a layflat condition. high speed BO PiLUS winders capable of winding and automatic roll changes at speeds to 220 m/min.

The resulting production quality is remarkable. A film line equipped with an IBC system can obtain production capacities of 1.3 kg/h for each mm of die lip diameter. This equates to approximately 22.5 lb./in of die circumference. A 250 mm (10) die lip can produce 325 kg/h or 715 lb./hr. The distinctive design of the extrusion screws combined with a section of forced feed for high production and passage of HDiiPE can lead to excessive pressures and high erosion and abrasion circumstances. The use of specific materials for these components allows for a long production life span and maximum production capacities.
