Apple Crumble

         6-8 fresh apples Half cup water 2 tablespoons xylitol Topping Organic butter 3 tablespoons rice syrup, honey or maple syrup Half cup LSA mix Quarter cup sunflower seeds and almonds Quarter cup desiccated coconut

Preheat oven to 356F/180C Peel and chop fresh apples Place in a pan with the water and xylitol and stew until tender, but not mushy Place the apple filling into a pie dish or large casserole dish Melt together the butter and the sweetener Combine dry topping ingredients into a bowl Mix in the melted butter Cover the apples with the topping Bake for 15-25 minutes, until the crust is crispy Serves 8 Suitable for freezing P.S. LSA is a ground combination of linseeds (also known as flaxseeds), sunflower seeds and almonds - can usually be found in some supermarkets and health food stores
