Having been to college in this area, I found it had become thoroughly gentrified in the 21st Century. The family who owned the area had ensured low rents to encourage lots of vibrant businesses into 'Marylebone Village'. The old pub had become a fashionable eaterie (pictured). The pub we students went to looked exactly the same.
The one spoiler, shop owners reported, was that traffic wardens had become so predatory that it was risky and expensive to get stock delivered at any time without getting a ticket.
