Essay 3: Compare and Contrast Short Story Throughout the semester we have spent time discussing the parts

that make up a short story. Poetry, and drama such as character, setting, theme, symbolism, imagery, structure, and point of view. For this essay you have the opportunity to examine a selection of these terms in depth as they apply to specific literature we have read. You will choose a component from two works we have read this semester and compose an essay either comparing or contrasting them. For instance you could choose two characters, themes, settings, symbols, narrators, speakers, etc and explain how they are the same or different.
