A book signing event will take place Thursday, January 26, 2012, 7pm at RJ Julia in Madison, CT. Author Susan Corso tells the story about her real life events of involvement in an abusive relationship. Her book, Brooklyn Story, brings the awareness of domestic violence to light. Tickets for the event are $5.00 or $15.00 which includes a copy of her book. Purple Ribbon cookies, provided by Summer Kitchen Bake House, will be sold during the event for $5.00 each. All proceeds from the sale of the cookies benefit the Center for Domestic Violence Services (CDVS) formerly know as Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven. CDVS, a program of BHcare, provides free, confidential services to over 9,000 victims of domestic violence and their children each year. Services such as emergency shelter, 24-hour crisis hotlines, walkin crisis center, counseling, advocacy and other supports are provided to those fleeing from domestic abuse. ###
