What are the factors that influence the action of the enzyme:

Temperature - too cold the enzyme will still work but slowly, too hot and the enzyme will become denatured pH - different types of enzymes work best in different pH environments enzyme and substrate concentration - how many there is of each. eg. too many enzymes etcetera. enzyme inhibitors

2.What is an enzyme?

Enzymes are biological catalysts, mainly proteins, generated by your body to speed up chemical reactions in the body. they have an active site on which the substrate is attached, and then broken up or joined.

3.What is the differences beween pentose and hexose ? They are both monosaccharides (sugars) hexose means there are 6 carbon atoms and pentose means there are 5 carbon atoms. Glucose and fructose are examples of hexoses Arabinose and ribose are examples of pentoses
