coverage in mind. The fringe adds visual length, allowing you
to maintain a little more mystery than a traditional cropped top
would allow while creating sexy drama! This top is the perfect
choice for anything from an afternoon pool party to evening
cocktails.

Double Stitch: Designs for the Crochet Fashionista is a collection of stylish and sexy patterns for
the fashion diva. Chicago-based designers and twins Erika and Monika Simmons bring a modern
edge to the craft with twenty-three fashion-forward projects inspired by their retail design line
using simple crochet techniques mixed with innovative construction, form-fitting designs, playful
color combinations, and unique detailing.

The simple techniques in Double Stitch are accessible even to the new crocheter and yield suc-
cessful results every time. A techniques section with illustrations covers all the basics crocheters
need to create each project featured.

About the authors


Erika and Monika Simmons have been crocheting
since they were in fourth grade. The thirty-something
twins and Chicago natives started their Double Stitch
clothing and accessories line in 2002. Their work is
Paperbound, 8½ x 9, 128 pages carried at the Mai Rees Boutique in Chicago. They
80 photographs, 50 illustrations were recently awarded the Style Makers and Rule
ISBN 978-1-59668-063-0 Breakers award by Fashion Group International, and
$21.95 US/$25.95 CAN their collection was recently selected by Macy’s on
May 2008 State Street in Chicago as part of their Chicago Indie
Designer Shop.
