Each screen has 3 different types of seats/classes viz . we found that there is no such function available at this moment. This application will automate the reservation of tickets and Enquiries about availability of the tickets. The Ticket Reservation System is an Internet based application that can be accesses throughout the Net and can be accessed by anyone who has a net connection. By examining the existing system on the internet. Conclusion 1 . And. Functional components of the project: Following is a list of functionalities of the system. instead the customer has to visit cinema hall for further process. So. you can make appropriate assumptions and proceed. INTRODUCTION This project is aimed at developing an online ticket reservation system for Cinema Halls. The cinema hall is a multiplex which has 4 or more screens. This application includes email confirmation for the tickets. we will not give the money back to the customer. This is one of the important feature of our system. More functionality that you find appropriate can be added to this list. in places where the description of functionality is not adequate. To protect the benefit of the cinema. The Cinema hall has a web site and any user of internet can access this. so we try to include it in our system.12. the customer can get the money from the cinema hall. Hence both the customer and the cinema can sort out further matter .

3. The system should automatically show the fare for the corresponding shows and amount of money needs to be pay for selected seats. A mail should be send to the concerned person about the confirmation of the ticket to the specified email address. Give details about the credit card or debit card through which he is doing payment. Able collect tickets at the counter presenting the unique id send to him/her through email.Platinum. . A person should be able to • Choose city where he/she want to see the Movie. Choose the film which he/she wish to book tickets. Can select seats from different classes as well for same show and screen also. • • • Able to choose the seats which are available for a certain class. Only 100% of the seats are available for online reservation. 1. Gold & Silver depending on the rate of the class/seat. • • • 2. Query the films on show for one weeks (Only one weeks advance reservation is available) should be there.

there is similar system on the internet. but there is no refund method found in the existing system The goals of our system are: 1.2 Scope of Project : . After inserting the data to database. staff needs not to do with the order receive through the system. It is an automatic system. To obtain statistic information from the booking record 2. To provide a anytime anyplace service for the customer 2. Project Overview and Summary 2. To increase the profit 4. In fact. To promote the film on the internet 3.2.1 Purpose of Project : The main purpose of our online ticket booking system is to provide another way for the customer to buy cinema ticket.

g.1 General Requirements (functional): 1. A way in which the staff can use the system to add data(e. The system can generate some statistic information according booking and ticket selling record for the cinema hall per Movie based.g.2 Interface Enhancements: Our web-based system needs about more than 30 interfaces to handle all the functions.2. the time table page) will be generated automatically according to the data in database. A way in which the customer can modify its own data(booked seats before payment).2. 3. The system can generate the time table automatically as the time table is set by the staff. A way in which the customer can check the ticket record (seat numbers)selected by him/her at the time of payment. The system can verify the data before transaction.  Staff: . A way in which the cinema hall admin (staff) can login to the system to perform different operation. 11. 5.(operating mode for the staff to insert data). 8. film description) to the database. 6. 2. 2. 7. A way in which the customer can commit order by just clicking the seat (which is shown on the screen) and insert some card data. 4. The web page (e.2.

g. The customers can buy ticket online and cancel the seat at a suitable time (2 days before the show to 1hour before the show)by visiting the cinema hall. An order will be commit step by step with guideline (request about 7 steps for an order). So.1 Features : .One of the main purpose of our system is to reduce the number of staff in the ticket box. staff can check the statistic information from the system.3 Overview of Project : Our Online Ticket Reservation for Cinema Halls is a web-based system. Also. 2. most of the job is done by the system automatically.3. film description. time table) which will update the webpage (webpage are dynamic page.  Customer: To make the system more user-friendly. customer need not to enter lots of data. 2. Staff can use the system to insert and delete data (e. all the customers have to present the unique id provided at the time of booking seats online. To enhance the refund function. Staff only need to insert new film data and due with the refund part. changing according to the data in database).

including requirements. Any SDLC should result in a high quality system that meets or exceeds customer expectations. reaches completion within time and cost estimates. In software engineering the SDLC concept underpins many kinds of software development methodologies. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a logical process used by a systems analyst to develop an information system. training. "incremental". validation. and user (stakeholder) ownership. a number of SDLC models have been created: "waterfall". Computer systems are complex and often (especially with the recent rise of ServiceOriented Architecture) link multiple traditional systems potentially supplied by different software vendors. "spiral". These methodologies form the framework for planning and controlling the creation of an information system: the software development process. and "synchronize and stabilize" . and is inexpensive to maintain and cost-effective to enhance. "fountain". "build and fix". To manage this level of complexity. works effectively and efficiently in the current and planned Information Technology infrastructure. "rapid prototyping".

Testing 5. Maintenance 7. Disposal 4.1 Planning Everything starts with a concept. Acceptance 6.1. Planning 2.There are seven step of SDLC: 1. It could be a concept of some-one. or everyone. Design 3. ―What do you . there are those that do not start out with a concept but with a question. Implementation 4. However.

Some developers.2. Developers will work together and decide the initial specifics of the software to be created. . The workflow about the project is also laid out. especially those that follow the standard plan of developing soft-ware will work on the plan and present them for approval. Implementation The first two stages are quite common in all SDLC models. they should at least know that something will help them achieve to finish the program faster.1. it is time to work on the plan. It is not only important that developers should have a solid plan. it is time to design or create a rough plan regarding the software. It is also essential for developers to know that this stage deals a lot with upper management so if you are not the owner of the software development company. Implementation in some SDLC models is a combination of implementation and testing to a focus group. 4. which will take care the coding of a certain part of the software and even the time frame.3. 4. When the design and all the things that you need have been laid out. you have to deal with them a lot in this stage. Some will also treat this stage as planning for the back-end operations in developing the software. They will decide what platform or programming language to use. This could be conducted by a project manager along with the developers.1.want? they ask thousands of people in a certain community or age group to know what they want and decide to create an answer. However. Design Once planning and arguing with the manager or the owner about the plan and somehow convincing them. But it all goes back to planning and conceptualization. things change starting on this stage.

1. So developers will always have a fighting chance in the market as long as they implement good software for public use. acceptance means the software is implemented as an added tool or could be replacing another software that has been found too wanting after years of use. It is difficult to change public software but they are not closing their ears to new software. This is usually done in models wherein implementation does not go with pre-testing with users. 4. This testing is aimed in cleaning the software of all the bugs altogether. Maintenance When the software is implemented.1. For software that are set for public release. it is time to test the software not just to the developers but to actual users.5. All SDLC models include maintenance since there are absolutely no way that a software will be . On the other hand. The first type of testing is the actual testing by users. Testing This could mean two things depending on an SDLC model. the software is first tested by other developers who were not in charge in creating the software. there are also testing that uses professionals in the field. when the software is implemented to the public a new software could be an added software for use. Once this stage is completed. it does not mean that the software is good as it is. Acceptance When the software is released to be used by a certain company. 4. On the other hand. They will weed out the bugs and suggest fixes if every they find one.

4. Disposal will also require an efficient purging of documents so that no traces of information could be retrieved from memory devices inside the computer. Project managers should take a look at all the affected files of the software and determine which file to protect and dispose. Someone has to stay in the present software to take a look and ensure the program works perfectly. Maintenance is quiet an easy task as long as the right food and product is serve in an expected time frame. When the software is implemented in public. However. If the company is planning to re-use the company computers that is ok but it is an entirely different story when the computer and other related equipments is sold.working perfectly. it is not just all deletion of files. The whole team might not be there to help the developer so addressing a major concern could never be answered.2 PROJECT MANAGEMENT 4. it is always a challenge when something goes wrong. As we have indicated in previous chapters. Project Planning and Scheduling .2. Software companies either set up a call center or an e-mail service to address the concerns of the consumer. Disposal Last but not the least. when a software is being outmoded.

with identifiable deliveries to the next phase.  Report writing and presentations. Iterative Waterfall Model . This model is sometimes referred to as the linear sequential model or the software life cycle.  Personnel selection and evaluation. As this product is pure business application the solution. In this model each phase is well defined with a starting and an ending point. Because from one phase to another. This model is known as the “Iterative Waterfall Model”. is known.  Project costing. The waterfall model derives its name due to the cascading effect from one phase to the other as is illustrated in Figure. It offers meanings of the developments process more visible.  Project planning and scheduling. We keep these factors in mind and the model of the software development process was derived from other engineering processes and it is undergoing. So mapping a customer’s desires and a firm’s development must not be a bigger issue.  Project monitoring and reviews. The project has to develop from many stages before reaching its final development. It includes following activities:  Proposal writing.

software and the associated interfaces. Algorithmic detail and Interface representations. This document should clearly define the product function. In the integration and system testing phase. The software engineer at this stage is concerned with: • • • Software architecture. . all the program units are integrated and tested to ensure that the complete system meets the software requirements. In the implementation and testing phase stage. After this stage the software is delivered to the customer. 5. The hardware requirements are also determined at this stage along with a picture of the overall system architecture. 4. In the specification phase. Testing at this stage focuses on making sure that any errors are identified and that the software meets its required specification. namely: 1. (b) The constraints are identified. In the system and software design phase. the system specification is produced from the detailed definitions of (a) and (b) above. the designs are translated into the software domain. the system specifications are translated into a software representation. Any faults in the specification should ideally not be passed ’downstream’. By the end of this stage the software engineer should be able to identify the relationship between the hardware. 3. Requirements analysis phase (a) The problem is specified along with the desired service objectives (goals). The model consists of six distinct stages. • • Detailed documentation from the design phase can significantly reduce the coding efforts. 2.

Observe that feed back loops allow for corrections to be incorporated into the model. Correct errors and oversights previously undetected in the testing phases. the relevant documentation should be updated to reflect that change. It is an enforced disciplined approach. Risk Identification.6. ADVANTAGES: • • • Testing is inherent to every phase of the waterfall model. Adapted to accommodate changes in the external environment. these should not be assessed or prioritized at this stage. 2. that is. The maintenance phase is the usually the longest stage of the software. It is concern with discovering possible risks to the project. 3. It is documentation driven. 4. Risk Management There are four stages to risk management planning: 1. 4. In principal. Risk Response. During the project development we faced following risk and try to solve them by best efforts. Risk Identification Risk Identification is the first stage of risk management.2. documentation is produced at every stage.2. Risk Monitoring and Control Assessment. In this phase the software is updated to: • • • • Meet the changing customer needs. . When changes are made at any phase. Enhancing the efficiency of the software. although in practice risks with very minor consequences or very low probability risks are not usually considered. Risk Quantification. For example a problem/update in the design phase requires a ‘revisit’ to the specifications phase. 1.

Employee risk is one of the major risks to be considered while designing the software. • Technology Risk. and establish a contingency plan should the problem occur. it is really good idea to identify it. If this project fails then all the future plans depending on this project would also fail. assess its probability of occurrence. • Process Risk. Risk may threaten the project. Staff Risk This risk is dependent on the ability. 2. Many problems can plague a software project. the software that is being developed. A risk is a potential problem – it might happen. All team members should put maximum effort to finish the product on time. experience and willingness of the software team members to create the working product. regardless of the outcomes. • Staff Risk. Business Impact Risk This is the risk where concern is that of not being able to create the product that has impact on clients business.• Business Impact Risk. Risk Analysis Identifying risk and drawing up plans to minimize their effect on the project work is called Risk Analysis. it might not. 4. Risk analysis and management are a series of steps that help a software team to understand and manage uncertainty. estimate its impact. . 3. But.

Lack of training on tools that are used. The time required to develop the software is under-estimated. True business need should be described to avoid risk. The resources are insufficient.3. Allocate more time for training on the tools. which can be followed to establish risk management plans. If the product developed does not meet the standards set by the customer or the development team then it will be a failure. The requirements are not understood properly. Technology will not meet Expectations Strategy Derive traceability information to assess requirement change impact. It relies on the judgment and experience of the project manager. Technology should be selected in such a way that it is long sustaining and is functional for longer period of time. Since technology changes rapidly nowadays so a matured technology should be used in the development of the software.2. Risk Planning Risk planning process considers each of the key risks which have been identified and identified strategies to manage the risk. Developed Proof of Concept . 4. Allocate one more week than deadline. Analyze tools required and allocate them. Process Risk Process risk involves risks involving product quality. 6. Risk Change to the requirements which require major design rework are proposed. The process must be clearly defined and responsibility should be divided among the members. Again there is no simple process. Analyze the requirements thoroughly.5. Technology Risk Technology risk involves using technology that already is or soon to become obsolete in the development of the software.
