Freeport LNG Berths First Ship.

One of the many new LNG facilities popping up in the USA recently received its first vessel in-service. Maritime International, Inc. was awarded the fender systems that were to be mounted to the four large breasting dolphins for this project. The fenders were installed by Bo-Mac Contractors of Beamont, Texas; a leading marine contractor on the US Gulf Coast. The four fender systems required for this project each consisted of a massive MCS 2250 cell fender with a 10’(3m) wide x 17’(5.2m) tall frontal frame with uhmw facing and accessories. The fender systems were manufactured and delivered within 16 weeks of the order being placed by Bo-Mac. “Freeport LNG plays a key role in the evolving energy sector in the USA”; says John Fulton, Project Engineer for Bo-Mac Contractors, “The fender systems are vital in the berthing operations at this facility and Maritime’s products arrived on-time and were very easy to install.” “The first berthing went off without a hitch and fenders performed beautifully.” Maritime International, Inc is a leading marine fender design and manufacturing company that operates globally from its headquarters in Louisiana, USA.
