OWS draft resolution on Syria, Fabruary 5th 2012 – 2nd edition

We, the Occupiers of the World, in solidarity with the Syrian people in these times of their pain and cruelty bestowed on them by their government, call for an international action to halt all acts of violence by the Syrian forces immediately, and remind the President Assad to apply the principles of the charter of the Arab Human rights and the Universal Charter of Human Rights.

1. Recalling UN resolution A/C.3/66/L.44/Rev. «Promotion and Protection of human rights» 2. Recalling the League of Arab States, Arab Charter on Human Rights, May 22, 2004, reprinted in 12 Int'l Hum. Rts. Rep. 893 (2005), entered into force March 15, 2008. 3. Noting the request from the Arab league, 22 January 2012, 4. Expressing grave concern about the situation in Syria, the death of thousands of people and calling for an immediate end to all violence, 5. Underscoring the urgency, 6. Expressing grave concern about the continued transfer of weapons into Syria which fuels the violence, 7. Recognizing the call for help from the Syrian people, 8. Demands that the Syrian government immediately puts an end to all human rights violations and attacks against those exercising their rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association, protect its population, fully comply with its obligations under applicable international law and fully implement the human rights; 9. Recalls that all those responsible for human rights violations, including acts of violence, must be held accountable; 10.
