TYPES Vaccines are dead or inactivated organisms or purified products derived from them. Their different types: ‡ Killed ‡ Attenuated ‡ Toxoid ‡ Subunit ‡ Conjugate ‡ Experimental ‡ Valence .

cholera . hepatitis A . rabies vaccine . ‡ Examples : Influenza. etc. .Killed vaccines ‡ They contain killed microbes that were virulent earlier. radioactivity or antibiotics. heat. ‡ May be destroyed with chemicals . bubonic plague.

. ‡ These agents provoke more durable immunological responses and are the preferred type for healthy adults.Attenuated vaccines ‡ Contain live (attenuated) micro-organisms.
