BANK ROBBERY

On Monday, February 13, 2012, at 5:00 p.m., Grand Rapids Police responded to My Personal Credit Union, 1327 Plainfield Ave. NE, on the report of a bank robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a lone suspect entered the credit union and approached a teller. The suspect implied that he had a weapon in his pocket. The suspect demanded money from the teller. After obtaining money, the suspect fled out of the credit union and northbound on Plainfield Ave. The suspect was described as a male, 5-8 to 5-10 in height, 190 lbs., wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt under a dark coat. The suspect also wore blue jeans with a design on the rear pocket area. The suspect had a dark mask on during the robbery. Grand Rapids K-9 attempted to track the suspect without success. The robbery is being investigated by the Major Case Team and agents of the FBI. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 456-3604 or Silent Observer at 7742345.
