Only a Third-Generation Immigrant is a Natural Born Citizen By Gerry Nance There has been a lot of discussion about

Natural Born Citizen and what a Natural Born Citizen is. Quite simply put, and without a doubt, a Natural Born Citizen is a ThirdGeneration Citizen, or more, of an emigrant or non-citizen. The term First-Generation, as it pertains to a person's nationality or residency in a country, can imply two possible meanings, depending on context: • A foreign born citizen or resident who has immigrated and been naturalized in a new country of residence, or • A naturally born citizen or resident of a country whose parents obey the previous definition. In the United States, after USA v Wong Kim Ark (1898): 1. First generation immigrant: Immigrants who migrated [emigrated] to the U.S. and became Naturalized US Citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment. These are First-Generation US Citizens. If a child is born in the US to two [nonimmigrant] aliens [this may be an error], but the child is a First-Generation US Citizen under the Fourteenth Amendment. If a pregnant [non-immigrant] alien births a child in the US and, her baby is a granted US citizenship [this may be an error], the child is a First-Generation US Citizen. [Assuming the father is also a non-immigrant alien.]These are the US Citizens of US Constitution Article 1 Section 2 and Section 3. 2. Second-generation immigrant: In the United States, among demographers and other social scientists, the term "second generation" is used to refer to the U.S.born children of foreign-born parents, or U.S.-born children of at least one foreign-born parent. These are also First-Generation US Citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment and the US Citizens of US Constitution Article 1 Section 2 and Section 3. Barack Hussein Obama II is in this circumstance. 3. Third generation immigrant: U.S.-born children of two U.S.-born parents who became First or Second-Generation US Citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment, where at least one grandparent is foreign-born. These are the Natural Born Citizens of US Constitution Article 2 Section 1 Clause 5. Barack and Michele Obama’s two daughters are in this circumstance. Of this I have no doubt.
