Inverness is home to a wealth of beautiful trails and stunning scenery.

Take a walk through this gorgeous trail at Daviot Woods (left) or hike in the revelled Nevis Mountain Range. The Ness Island Walk is another popular tourist destination, offering trail walkers a chance to experience nature along beautiful, maintained trails. Walk, hike or cycle along these trails and more to experience the Scottish Highlands up close. Visitors from all over the world flock to Inverness for easy access to the famous Loch Ness (left). For nearly 100 years the beautiful waterfront has been subject to much speculation. In 1933 the first sightings of the alleged “Loch Ness Monster” were reported, immediately stirring wonder and imagination. Since then, visitors have filled hotels in Inverness and spent their days out on the Loch to try and catch a glimpse of the mythical creature.

For a historical view of the beautiful city of Inverness, take a stroll along the Inverness Historic Trail. Pick up a walking guide and map to follow the trail from the stately Inverness Castle (above) to the Inverness Cathedral. The self-guided walking tour features historical buildings that together tell the story of Inverness’ past. Featured buildings include the Georgian Tollbooth Steeple, a 1882 Victorian Town House and 1668’s Dunbar’s Hospital. Inverness is surrounded by stunning landscapes, but inside the city lies a wealth of art, culture and cuisine. The Inverness Museum and Art Gallery (above) exhibits some of the region’s finest work by local artists, as well as historical pieces and artefacts from the rich history of Inverness. Visitors to Inverness are often looking for a traditional Scottish experience and Urquhart’s Restaurant delivers. Traditional Scottish fare impeccably prepared tops off any Scottish experience.
