The future battlefield will be characterised by decreased time dimension, the use of advanced sensors, precision weapons, exorbitant use of air power, electronic warfare and cyber warfare, rapid flow of real time information, and rapid large scale mechanised manoeuvres. Any future war will preclude the possibility of an isolated operation by a particular service without an active participation of another. Modern wars are, therefore, no longer a one-service affair. In our geo – strategic environments we perceive extensive joint air- land or air-sea operations coming up in any future war. These call for a high state of harmony, coordination, joint training and unified planning among the three services. Pakistan has not met any considerable success in any of the above-mentioned fields. In this background, study present arrangement of joint services training suggesting a mode for fostering joint services officers training which can be implemented within our limited resources.
