“Change is the law of life.” Change and growth take place when we risked ourselves and dare to become involved with experimenting with our own lives. As we move on in life, we come across several new experiences which demand a change in our attitude, change in our principles, or a change in our way of life. But at some point of life, not everything about us changes. There are certain things we choose to stay as we grow in life. Childhood is present in every adult. The immaturity, the innocence, the naivety, the thirst for approval, is craved in everyone around us. As we grow, we become something new and grand. We are now fully-grown to understand the things happening around us. We are wise now in every action we take and every decision we make. We develop to an independent person unlike when we were still young; we need the company of an elder just to visit the places where we want to go. As a child, we have crushes. But now, we truly know what love is, what the feeling is when in love, and being love in return by someone we admire. Moreover, we have the knowledge of how to express ourselves as what and who really are. On the other hand, some things in our life do not change. We always obey our parents. We throw tantrums when things do not go our way. We whisper secrets with our best friends. We give importance to the memories we had which can be represented in many ways: a stuffed animal, song or even a movie. We cling to these things for support in times of need, or just to recall fond of memories of a simpler, and in most cases happier time. We return to them for comfort, or we pass them to others who need them. And lastly, we still hope against all logic and against all experiences around us. To summarize, one particular object from our childhood stays in our minds; representing something we yearn for, needed at one point, or recall for fond memories of a happier time. But we need to face the truth that change is one of the mandatory things in life. Just as the sky will be different in few hours, its present perfection and completeness is not deficient. We will grow. We will be different tomorrow. Only God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever.
