1. Brian Charles Pasadena Star News 911 E. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91106 Re: Pasadena Star News - February 21, 2012 Request for Public Records Dear Mr. Charles: The Arcadia Unified School District is in receipt of your request for records dated February 21, 2012. Arcadia Unified School District Board Policy 1340(a) states: "Any person shall have reasonable access, during normal business hours, to the public records of the schools and district. Such records shall be examined in the presence of the staff member regularly responsible for their maintenance." In accordance with District Board Policy, in response to your request for "access to and copies of the district policy on teacher conduct," the District will provide all existing documents responsive to your request. In response to your request for access to and copies of "the policy for reporting and investigating claims of misconduct," the District will provide all existing documents responsive to your request. In response to your request for access to and copies of "the status of any and all investigations into teacher misconduct dating back to the 2006-2007 school year," this request does not refer to an identifiable public record.

However, in compliance with California Government Code section 6253.1, the District is committed to assisting requestors in making a focused and effective request that reasonably describes an identifiable record. Because your request mentions "the recent scandal at the Miramonte School", the District will provide documents responsive to this request involving teacher misconduct against students. In response to your request for "copies of any forms sent to the state demanding the revocation of teacher credentials due to misconduct dating back to the 2006-2007 school year," there are no such forms, however, the District will provide copies of reports to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing that are required by Title 5, California Code of Regulations section 80303. Due to the need to search for, collect, and appropriately examine the voluminous amount of separateand distinct records demanded by your February 21, 2012 request, the District will have all records responsive to your request available for inspection and copying on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Please contact the undersigned to arrange a convenient time to review the records. District Board policy 1340(a) provides that "The District may charge for copies of public records or other materials requested by individuals or groups. The charge, based on actual costs of duplication, shall be determined by the superintendent or designee." The copying cost for the records you request is $0.25 per page. Very truly yours,

Beverly K~att, Ed.D. Director of Personnel Services BK:rg
