My name is Alexander Fenner.

I was born in San Diego, California and moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts when I was seven months of age. As far back as I can remember I was addicted to the Food Network channel. My mother has told me stories about how I would throw a temper tantrum when ever she would change the channel from cooking to something different. I do not have a specific moment in my life that has directed me towards the Culinary Arts field. I have always been intrigued by this fast paced lifestyle. I graduated from Cape Cod Regional Technical Vocational High school in July 2012 with a Certificate in Culinary Arts, a ServSafe Certification, a CPR Certification, and a OSHA Certification. Currently, I am currently enrolled into the Bachelors program at New England Culinary Institute. As of now, my main focus in my life is my education. By doing so, I will be able to acquire the skills needed to one day open my own restaurant. I understand that this will require hard work and countless of hours studying, but its all worth it if it means that I will be getting a quality education. Being able to graduate from a college will not only be an accomplishment for myself, but also for my family. I will be the third person, second generation, of my family to gain a degree for a higher education. Their support only motivates me to work my absolute hardest at this point in time of my life so that I will be able to succeed later on. The future seems far away as a child, but upon entering college it seems far closer. Upon graduating from NECI I plan on using the experience that I gained through internship to open my own restaurant with my family. The combined knowledge of the college degrees and the passion of having your entire family working towards the same goal will increase our chances of success. This idea, Mas Fica, is more than just a business concept to me. Mas Fica is my dream where I would be able to create the ultimate melting pot. I come from a mixed heritage, mostly Portuguese, but 100% driven. I want a place where there will be comforting soul food for everyone. I want to make Mas Fica a place someone can call home, no matter the distance.
