BELUGA WHALES: The beluga whale species in the permanent ice biome POLAR BEARS: Polar bears are

at the top of the food chain in the permanent ice biome, they eat anything they can find including meats and vegetables. They are omnivores. Polar bears in the permanent ice biome don t really find any plants other than lichens, so their diet is mainly based on meat. Polar bears are very important in the permanent ice biome because they provide meat for other animals such as the arctic fox. Polar bears are not the meat that they eat, but after a polar bear is done with what it caught or kills, animals such as the arctic fox would eat the leftovers. Without polar bears, a lot of the animals in the permanent ice biome would increase, but at the same time, some animal species would decrease, because like the arctic fox, they are a small animal and they cannot hunt big animals on their own.
