Preventing the Collapse of Storage Tanks
If liquid substances are pumped from a storage tank faster than ambient air can replace this substance, a vacuum will develop inside the tank. Stainless steel and Glass Fibre storage tanks are at risk of collapsing as these vacuums increase. The point at which they collapse is dependent on a number of variables.
