CHAPTER – 1

AUGMENTED REALITY IN GAMING
1. INTRODUCTION
Latest hardware to be used for creating playable AR games is costly. This slides discuss the hardware options available for a consumer level AR gaming system. Rational behind selecting an appropriate sensor technology , head mounted displays , power sources and controllers. We also outline the limitations presented by this hardware components and how they affect possible game play. Slides also present novel set of game design techniques and software solutions to overcome many hardware’s limitations and allows gamers to be created that do not require high-end hardware platforms.

1.1. The Ultimate Goal of AR
Create a system such that no user CAN tell the difference between the real world and the virtual augmentation of it. 1.1.1. Augmented Reality A combination of a real scene viewed by a user and a virtual scene generated by a computer that augments the scene with additional information.
