COORDINATE CRITICAL ELEVATIONS AND DIMENSIONS WITH ARCHITECT PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH FABRICATION. 2. PERFORATED STEEL PLATES SHALL BE A 40% OPEN AREA OF 1/2" Ø HOLES, ALIGNED IN A STRAIGHT PATTERN, WITH EDGE MARGINS ON ALL SIDES AS INDICATED IN THE DRAWINGS. 3. ALL PERFORATED STEEL PLATES SHALL BE 1/4" THICK WEATHERING STEEL TYPE-A, PER ASTM A242. 1 4. ALL STRUCTURAL SHAPES SHALL BE WEATHERING STEEL TYPE-B, PER ASTM A588 5. ALL WELDS SHALL ADHERE TO "SUGGESTED WELDING PRACTICES" AS PUBLISHED IN THE LATEST EDITION OF THE UNITED STATES STEEL (USS) CORTEN DESIGN GUIDES. WELD MATERIAL SHOULD OXIDIZE AT THE SAME RATE AS THE WEATHERING STEEL TO PROVIDE A CONSISTENT AESTHETIC APPEARANCE. 6. FOR ALL STEEL, REMOVE AND GRIND SMOOTH ANY MILL MARKINGS, RAISED IDENTIFICATION MARKS, ERECTION TABS, AND/OR MILL SCALE. GRIND ALL WELDS SMOOTH AND REMOVE ANY SPLATTER, SLAB, OR FLUX DEPOSITS. 7. EXISTING ALUMINUM LETTERS SHALL BE FURNISHED BY THE OWNER. CONTRACT SHALL CLEAN THE LETTERS, REMOVE EXISTING MOUNTING POSTS, PROVIDE NEW MOUNTING POSTS, AND MOUNT THE LETTERS AS SHOWN IN THE DRAWINGS. 8.
