In humans. (3.3/26/12 THE PANCREAS  The pancreas is a glandular organ that secretes digestive enzymes (internal secretions) and hormones (external secretions).8 cm) wide. the pancreas is a yellowish organ about 7 inches (17. The two hormones are insulin and glucagon. .8 cm) long and 1.  The pancreas contains enzyme producing cells that secrete two hormones.5 inches.

What is Pancreatitis?  Pancreatitis 3/26/12 is an inflammation of the panceas  The pancreas secretes insulin. pancreatitis occurs suddenly and lasts for a short period of time.diabetes  may develop. It usually resolves. Some people with acute pancreatitis may have more than one attack and recover completely after each    Acute . which is of fundamental importance in the handling of glucose. If the pancreas is not functioning properly.

 ONE OVARY NECESSARY TO CARRY ALL REPRODUCTIVE FUNCTIONS WHETHER TO REMOVE ONE OR BOTH OVARIES .3/26/12 OVARIES  OVARIOTOMY  REMOVAL OF ONE OR BOTH OVARIES MOST FREQUENT CAUSE FIBROIDS .  INFLAMATION CAN BE ANOTHER CAUSE.

TYPE OF TREATMENT OPERATION ADVISED OR  CONTEMPLATED. CHRONIC CASES PHYSICIAN’S REPORT FOR  ATTENDING  HISTORY.  WHETHER NATURE.  ALSO HISTOPATHOLOGICAL REPORT IF FOR CONSIDERATION OF  REQUIRED .3/26/12 APPRAISAL  POSTPONE  FOR WHEN CONDITION IS PRESENT.

3/26/12 LIVER. SALIVERY GLANDS  HAVE DUCTS WHICH CARRY THEIR SECRETIONS. PANCREAS. OR HORMONES OF DUCTLESS GLANDS ARE RELEASED DIRECTLY INTO BLOOD THEY INFLUENCE REMOTE TISSUES AND ORGANS.  SECRETION  .

HAS TWO PARTS ANTERIOR AND POSTERIOR WHICH DIFFERENT HORMONES  IT  PRODUCE .3/26/12 THE PITUITARY  IS CONNECTED TO THE BASE OF THE BRAIN.

HORMONES SECRETED BY THE POSTERIOR PART HELP THE FUNCTIONS OF THE KIDNEY .3/26/12  THE ANTERIOR PART SECRETES GROWTH HORMONE WHICH CONTROLS THE ACTIVITIES OF OTHER DUCTLESS GLANDS.  THE .

FUNCTIONS ARE TO DEVELOP METABOLISM AND TO EFFECT BODY AND MENTAL DEVELOPMENT.3/26/12 THYROID GLAND  THYROID GLAND HAS TWO LOBES SITUATED IN LOWER PART OF THE NECK.  MAIN  There . are a number of different types of thyroid cancer.

APPRAISAL 3/26/12  Most thyroid cancer cases will be postponed for a period of time after the completion of thyroid cancer treatment.5cm in size. thyroid cancers may be postponed for 1-2  In  Other . did not spread. it may be possible to obtain standard life insruance rates after a 1 year postpone. no residuals.. the best case scenarios for thyroid cancers that were less than 1. etc.

GLAND  THYMUS IS CONNECTED WITH REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM AND ONSET OF PUBERTY .PARATHYROID 3/26/12  HELPS RELEASE OF CALCIUM IN BODY FOR BONES AND TEETH. .

IT IS NECESSARY TO ASCERTAIN THE CAUSE. OF HODGKINS DISEASE. CANCER OR TB MUST BE RULED OUT.  IF SYSTEMIC.LYMPHATIC ANAEMIA .  SUSPICION . PROGNOSIS FAVOURABLE.3/26/12  ENLARGED GLANDS (ADENITIS) WHEN LOCALISED .

X-ray of chest  u/w: . WHETHER X. ESR. . WHETHER OPERATIVE TREATMENT GIVEN WHETHER MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION DONE AND THE RESULTS THERE OF Posptone till cure.ASCERTAIN  DATE 3/26/12 OF FIRST APPEARANCE.RAYED. LOCATION SIZE . thereafter physician report CBC.

3/26/12  CHRONIC IRRITATION IN MOUTH. THROAT OR NASAL CAVITIES IN STRUMOUS ( SWELLING OF LYMPH GLANDS) OR SCROFULUS (DISEASED RUN DOWN APPEARANCE) CAUSE CERVICAL ADENITIS  MAY  WHICH DISAPPEARS ON REMOVAL OF CAUSE AND IS NOT SERIOUS .

AXILLAE OR  TUBERCULOUS IF MORE THAN 35 YEARS OLD . GROIN OR AXILLAE DUE TO OPERATION FOR REMOVAL INDICATE POSSIBLE TUBERCULOSIS .3/26/12  CASEATING GROINS GLANDS IN THE NECK. MAY BE ACCEPTED WITH OR WITHOUT EXTRA .  OLD SCARS IN NECK.

X RAY OF CHEST AND BIOPSY REPORT IF DONE .  THEN FOR CONSIDERATION GETCBC .3/26/12  LYMPHATIC GLANDS MAY BE TEMPORARILY ENLARGED FROM LOCAL IRRITATION OR INFLAMMATION IN NEIGHBOURHOOD .POSTPONE TILL CURE . ESR .

LUNGS AND SKIN OVERACTIVE.  HEART  FOOD  THERE . NERVOUS SYSTEM EXCITABLE AND IRRITABLE. CONSUMPTION INCREASES YET IS LOSS IN WEIGHT . SPEEDED UP.3/26/12 HYPER THROIDISM  HYPER THROIDISM CAUSED BY TOO MUCH SECRETION .

3/26/12 HYPOTHYROID  HYPOTHYROID SECRETION . IS INSUFFICIENT THYROID  MAY BE CONGENITAL . . MAY BE DUE TO DISEASE OR INJURY .

BP thru adrenals and sex vigor thru sex glands.  Hyperthyroidism – may be congenital due to disease/surgery less secretion. In insurance underwriting goiters are divided into Simple Colloid 2) Simple adenomatous 3) Toxic adenomatous 4) Exophthalmic  1) . height/weight through pituitary gland. Secretion of thyroid interacts with endocrine glands to govern energy expenditure of the body.Enlargement of thyroid.3/26/12  GOITRE .

. Appears at puberty. Pulse under 80.Big neck deficiency of iodine. May become toxic in future. 1) SIMPLE COLLOID . 3/26/12  u/w:  2) SIMPLE ADENOMATOUS – There is localized overgrowth as nodules here and there and felt as lumps. BP under 125/85 standard acceptance. If operated after 3 months at OR special questionnaire (Ann I and II) surgeon’s report with histopathology report. persists for 3-4 years and then disappears.

3/26/12  3) TOXIC ADENOMATOUS – Evidence of hyperthyroidism. surgeon’s report. If operated more than 5 years ago history can be ignored EXOPHTHALMIC GOITRE : Produces exophthalmus i.  u/w: Goitre questionnaire ( An 1 and 2) physician report. If not operated chronic may recover under medical care or by x-ray or radium therapy. histopathology report.
