The purpose of this chapter is to show, from Scripture, that YHVH desires
OBEDIENCE more than sacrifices. Sacrifices were not proscribed for sin in
the Torah until after the sin of the golden calf. Before that time they were a
way of giving homage and thanks to YHVH. (Abel’s and Cain’s and Noah’s
are examples)

In my early walk I had an adversary whom I call a cafeteria Christian
because he would pick and chose verses out of context to prove his doctrines
that totally ignored precepts of righteousness expected from believers. To
him anything we did was as filthy rags before YHVH. We were saved by
grace alone and all we had to do was believe, love ‘the Lord’ and our fellow
man as ourselves and the Holy Spirit would lead us how to walk! I don’t
know what spirit led him because he had a pornography problem.
I would like to thank that man today because his beliefs were the impetus
for my journey to reconcile Scriptures that ‘seem’ to contradict one another.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it
leads to death.

Genesis 8:20 Then Noah built an altar to YHVH and, taking some of all the
clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.
21 And YHVH smelled a sweet savor and said in His heart: "Never
again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination
of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living
creatures, as I have done.

This spontaneous offering from Noah pleased YHVH so much He
removed the curse of thorns and thistles put upon Adam.

Psalms 96:8 Ascribe to YHVH the glory due His Name; bring an offering
and come into His courts.

Psalms 20
8 I do not rebuke you for your sacrifices or your burnt offerings, which are
ever before Me.
5 Gather my saints together unto Me, Those that have made a covenant
with Me by sacrifice

Psalms 20:3 He will remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt
. Selah

-- American Standard
Psalms 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness , And put your trust in

-- New International
Psalms 4:5 Offer right sacrifices and trust in YHVH.

Righteousness is obeying YHVH! THEN your sacrifices will be
considered ‘right’ and be accepted. People often quote Isaiah chapter one out
of context, especially verse thirteen, trying to say things like sacrifices are an
abomination to YHVH and even try to link the Sabbath and Feasts to this
negative light. In proper context Isaiah was chastising an extremely
backslidden and evil people who had an outward show without the proper
heart attitude. Consider the five verses you just read above.

-- New International
Isaiah 1:13 Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is
detestable to Me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations-- I cannot bear
your evil assemblies.

-- American Standard
Isaiah 1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto
Me; new moon and Sabbath, the calling of assemblies,-- I cannot away with
iniquity and the solemn meeting.

Isaiah 1:11-20
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me? Says YHVH: I
am full of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight
not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
12. When you come to appear before Me, who has required this at your
hand, to tread My courts?
13. Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto Me; the
new moons and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot bear with
iniquity and the solemn meeting.
14. Your new moons and your appointed Feasts My Soul hates: they are a
trouble unto Me; I am weary to bear them.
15. And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide My eyes from you:
yea, when you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of

(Proverbs 21:27 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: How
much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind!)

16. Wash , make yourself clean; put away the evil of your doings from
before My eyes; cease to do evil
17. Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the
fatherless, plead for the widow.
18. Come now, and let us reason together, says YHVH: though your sins be
as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient , you will eat the best from the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." For the
mouth of YHVH has spoken it.

Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to YHVH;
But the prayer of the upright is His delight.

1 Samuel 15:22 But Samuel replied: "Does YHVH delight in burnt
offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of YHVH ? To
obey is better than sacrifice
, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness and
insolence is as idolatry
. Because you have rejected the Word of YHVH, He
has also rejected you from being king.

Proverbs 15:8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to YHVH:
but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

Considering all the passages so far, in context to reconcile Scripture, then
Psalm 51:16 and Isaiah 66:3 must be referring to sacrifices from wicked

Psalms 51:16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; You do
not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
17 The sacrifices of Elohim are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart,
O Elohim, these You will not despise.
18 In your good pleasure make Zion prosper; build up the walls of
. (Compare to Isaiah 1:21 and Psalm 127:1)
19 Then there will be righteous sacrifices, whole burnt offerings to
delight You;
then bulls will be offered on Your altar.

If we seek to walk in righteousness, our sacrifices will be welcome. There
was a sacrifice that was made for all who would like to be reconciled to

YHVH; that was made in a righteousness that eludes us. Baruch haShem

Isaiah 66:1 This is what YHVH says: "Heaven is My throne, and the earth is
My footstool. Where is the house you will build for Me? Where will My
resting place be?
2 Has not My hand made all these things, and so they came into being?"
declares YHVH. "This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite
in spirit, and trembles at My Word.

3 But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever
offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's neck; whoever makes a grain
offering is like one who presents pig's blood, and whoever burns memorial
incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways,
and their souls delight in their abominations; *
4 so I also will choose harsh treatment for them and will bring upon them
what they dread. For when I called, no one answered, when I spoke, no one
listened. They did evil in My sight and chose what displeases Me."

* Those who try to approach YHVH who are not obedient, with a right
heart, are the ones whose sacrifices are likened to those described in verse 3.
Righteous sacrifices are what are proscribed in Torah. RE: Proverbs 15:8
and 21:27.

Jeremiah 6:19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even
the fruit of their thoughts
, because they have not hearkened unto My
Words; and as for My Torah, they have rejected it.

20 To what purpose comes there to Me frankincense from Sheba, and the
sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt-offerings are not acceptable, nor
your sacrifices pleasing unto Me.

Jeremiah 7:20-28
Therefore thus says YHVH Elohim; Behold, My anger and My fury shall be
poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of
the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be
21. Thus says YHVH of hosts, the Elohim of Yisrael; Put your burnt
offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

22. For I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that
I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or
sacrifices: *
23. But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey My voice, and I will
be your Elohim, and you shall be My people: and walk in all the ways that I
have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.
24. But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the
counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and
not forward.
25. Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto
this day I have even sent unto you all My servants the prophets, daily rising
up early and sending them:
26. Yet they hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened
their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
27. Therefore you shall speak all these words unto them; but they will not
hearken to you: you shall also call unto them; but they will not answer you.
28. But you shall say unto them, This is a nation that obeys not the voice of
YHVH their Elohim, nor receives correction: truth is perished, and is cut
off from their mouth.

* Sin sacrifices were added to Torah after the sin of the golden calf.

(The following prophecy was to the NTT)

Amos 5:20-27
Shall not the day of YHVH be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and
no brightness in it?
21. I hate, I despise your feast days, and I take no delight in your solemn
assemblies. *
22. Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will
not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
23. Take you away from Me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the
melody of your harps.
24. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a
mighty stream.

25. Have you offered unto Me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness
forty years, O house of Yisrael?
26. But you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your
images, the star of your elohim, which you made to yourselves.

27. Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus,
says YHVH, whose name is The Elohim of hosts.

* You must remember that Jeroboam changed the feasts of YHVH to the
eight month, made high places and made priests of people who where nor

Amos 5:1-7
Hear you this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house
of Yisrael.
2. The virgin of Yisrael is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken
upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
3. For thus says YHVH Elohim; The city that went out by a thousand shall
leave a hundred, and that which went forth by a hundred shall leave ten, to
the house of Yisrael.
4. For thus says YHVH unto the house of Yisrael, Seek Me, and you shall
5. But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for
Gilgal shall surely go into captivity and Bethel shall come to naught.
6. Seek YHVH, and you shall live; lest He break out like fire in the house
of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
7. You who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in
the earth.

(This prophecy was to Judah after the NTT had gone into captivity)

Micah 6:1-5
Hear you now what YHVH says; Arise, contend you before the mountains,
and let the hills hear your voice.
2. Hear you, O mountains, YHVH's controversy, and you strong
foundations of the earth: for YHVH has a controversy with His people,
and He will plead with Yisrael.
3. O My people, what have I done unto you? And wherein have I wearied
you? Testify against Me.
4. For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of
the house of servants; and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
5 All this is because of Jacob's transgression, because of the sins of the
house of Israel. What is Jacob's transgression? Is it not Samaria? What is
Judah's high place? Is it not Jerusalem?

Micah 6:6-8
Wherewith shall I come before YHVH, and bow myself before the high
Elohim? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year
7. Will YHVH be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of
rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my
body for the sin of my soul?
8. He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does YHVH
require of you,
but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly
with your Elohim?

Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of
Elohim more than burnt offerings.

Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: `I desire mercy, not
sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Psalms 69:30 I will praise the Name of Elohim with a song, And will
magnify Him with thanksgiving.
31 This will please YHVH more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns
and hoofs.

Leviticus 1:9 He is to wash the inner parts and the legs with water, and the
priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, an offering made
by fire, an aroma pleasing to YHVH.

Ezekiel 20:41 As a sweet savor will I accept you, when I bring you out
from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries wherein you have
been scattered
; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.

2 Corinthians 2:15 For we are a sweet savor of Moshiach unto Elohim, in
them that are saved, and in them that perish;

Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Moshiach also has loved us, and has
given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to Elohim for a sweet
smelling savor.

Many Christians are shocked and do not believe that Scripture tells us in
the millennium Temple ‘the Prince’ (Yahshua?) will again offer sacrifices,
including ones for sin! (Ezekiel chapters 40-45) They simply have no
concept of ‘mistaken’ and ‘foolish’ sins discussed in Torah. We are human
and we err occasionally even with a right heart! YHVH knew in His
omniscience and infinite wisdom that the Temple, where forgiveness of sins
was sought, would not stand much longer. Yahshua’s sacrifice was to hold
us until the time of the millennium Temple!

Matthew 11:15. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear Elohim, and keep His
commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14. For Elohim shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret
thing, whether it is good or whether it is evil.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
Elohim, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

I’m working on a chapter that may not be ready when this is first put on
