The March School teachers are very appreciative of the support and dedication showed to the students and staff through this partnership with Lafayette Colleges Leadership and Co-Curricular Service Learning Department.

" On March 2, 2012 we had Cat in the Hats in Training reading to all our classrooms. " The Cat in the Hats in Training were 3rd and 4th grade students who choose a Dr. Seuss book and read it to different classes through out the day. The students received Cat in the Hat hats for reading. Some were also able to read with EAHS ambassadors. " Cat in the Hats in Training are part of our year long Student Mystery Reader program. FAME Booster Week

" FAME booster week is a fantastic time for our children to get a fresh start on the reminders of how to be an excellent student. We discuss the focus area needing to be polished for the remainder of the year, focus on respect- stepping up to the plate with manners, greetings and keeping hands feet and objects to self are a few of the items. " Students were recognized with red stars for this specic objective! We have LOTS of students doing what is asked! Look at the amount of red stars handed out to the students in ve days! We certainly change behaviors and set the bar high for a positive climate in this school.

Mrs. Wilcoxs class and Mrs. Gottliebs ESL class made a special memory book for 1st grader Bradley on his last day at March school. Bradley will be attending Paxinosa school next week. He is looking forward to meeting his new teachers and new friends.

Our children then performed grade level productions at the March Pride Day Assembly to share what was learned!

Box Top Update

During PSSA week Mrs. Wieder, the school nurse, went into the 3rd grade classroom and taught lessons about dental health, proper brushing and ossing and nutrition. The students performed activities, which included comparing different toothpastes on dyed hard-boiled eggs. They collected data on the number of strokes within a 2 minute brushing period to make the egg white again and then used that information to learn how to create graphs. At the end of the week the students received goody bags with toothbrushes, dental oss (donated by Dr. Tenczas ofce) and coloring tablets for their own teeth to observe areas that are missed when they brush.
