An original design by Ant B Knits Size: newborn Materials: 1 Skein Elsebeth Lavold Classic AL (wool/alpaca, 50grams/109yards) Size 6 (4 mm) double point or circular needles or size needed to obtain correct gauge darning needle to weave in ends Gauge: In k3p1 rib pattern, 28 stitches and 30 rows over 4”/10cm. To save time, take time to check gauge. Abbreviations: k2tog: knit two stitches together s2kp: slip two stitches together as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitches over Hat is worked inside out with icord loop topper added after turning. Directions: CO 64 sts. Join in round being careful not to twist, work in k1p1 rib for 1”. Work k3p1 rib for 3”. Crown shaping as foll: *k3, p1, s2kp, p1; repeat from *. 48 sts rem) K 1 round. * s2kp, p1, k1, p1; repeat from *. (32 sts rem) K 1 round. * s2kp, p1; repeat from *. (16 sts rem) K 1 round. *k2tog; repeat from *. (8 sts) *k2tog; repeat from *. (4 sts) Place rem 4 sts on waste yarn and turn hat inside out. Place sts on dpn and work icord for 2”. Bind off sts leaving tail long enough to attach to top of crown forming a loop. Weave in ends. Block.
