The Square Ball is a Leeds United fanzine, amongst other things. Began writing for them in September, have provided around two articles per monthly issue, which sell around 1, 800 copies each. I have also taken part in the recording and production of their podcast.

Short placements were completed with both ITV News in London and ITVs regional Calendar news. During this time I wrote scripts, arranged interviews, and carried out one which was used on air.

I spent two weeks here, one with the news desk and one with the sports desk of the Yorkshire Evening Post. During the time I carried out interviews, wrote a number of stories, most of which were published in the following issue, some with by-lines.

English Language Access

A one week work experience placement was completed. This is a sport and music station that covers national headlines but focuses on Yorkshire sport. I recorded and edited daily vox pop interviews, found and scripted news stories, and put together short feature programmes for use on air. I also attended a Leeds United press conference.
