INSTRUCTIONAL INTENT: The OCS student will understand and practice techniques to improve reading rate and comprehension in technical reading material. 2. TRAINING OBJECTIVES: As a result of this instruction, the student will accomplish the following objectives: ACTION: Use handpacing to achieve optimum reading rate. CONDITION: Given this class and a practical exercise. STANDARD: The student will use handpacing to improve reading rate by at least 50 words a minute. ACTION: Preview and then read an article. CONDITION: Given this class and a practical exercise. STANDARD: Student will preview an article and then, using handpacing, read the article within ten minutes. 3. STUDENT REQUIREMENTS: a.
