INFORMATIONAL PICKET

If We Dont Stand Up, Who Will?

Were asking RNs to stand with us, as well as our co-workers in SEIU-UHW An informational picket is held in order to let our patients and the public know about our issues. Much of the language we fight for in our contract has to do with patient and / or nurse safety, and everyone has a stake in that. In the past, we have fought to have staffing ratios and safe needle practices written in our contract things that we take for granted today. During an informational picket, members walk the line with a picket sign just like in a strike, only its done during off time lunch, before or after work, or your day off. Management claims that our Union is an operational impediment. But, during negotiations April 11, management could not provide our team with one example of how this is so. An informational picket shows management how serious members are about obtaining a fair contract. If youre not out on the info picket line, youre telling management that its okay to: subcontract our jobs delete layoff protections and re-hire provisions remove or change pay for floating, call-back, SSP, MICN, and split shifts. Eliminate Union recognition language

Management wants to take away all our contract language that gives us a voice and input on how work is done at our hospitals. Its Your Call... Informational Picket
