A pregnant women

Introduction:
In today's accelerating world, everyone is so pre-occupied with their daily chores that it leaves no time for relaxation and health related activities. Moreover, people do not visit their physicians due to time limitations as well as financial constraints. As it is well said by someone that health is wealth therefore in such circumstances the easy access to websites would help people to solve their health queries via reviewing literature on internet which would save both time and cost. Advanced innovations in modern sciences and technologies have created incredible changes in medical practice, in the organization of human resources as well as in the services to deliver quality patient care. Thus, developing health care websites is another essential key for the ease of the general public in all parts of the world. Working in health industry, I believe it is important to have health related or disease process related websites for customers to fulfill their needs and to expand their horizon of better understanding towards healthy conditions. In our organization we found our obstetrics clinics having highest census, ultimately increased workload of our staff and decreased patient satisfaction due to which patient's queries are left unanswered. As a result, it was found that pregnant women were the ones left most unsatisfied. For any successful relationship cooperation and collaboration are two basic pre-requisites. Thus, we decided to design a website especially for Pregnant Women as that seemed to be the most noticeable situation. Pregnant women are always found to have multiple queries related to their conditions which lead to a high turnover in clinics. Most of the queries are related to routine maternal problems/complications which certainly did not require any visit if sufficient and relevant information is provided on the website. Many research studies highlights the needs of pregnant women, such as Shieh, et al (2009) Several studies have documented the sources of information that are accessed by pregnant women, including social networks (family and friends), mass media (radio and television), printed materials (books, newspapers, magazines, and brochures), and technology (computer and the Internet). Some researchers found that pregnant women sought health information from community sources, such as health fairs, presentations, lectures, classes, or health promotion activities organized by health, civic, or charity organizations, to a lesser degree than family networks and health professionals. Therefore, providing them another easy platform for accessing information would prove to be helpful for them. According to Min (2007) There is growing consensus that strengthening health systems is an essential element to improve women's health. However, improving women's health in third world countries is a difficult issue as the areas lack in material and human resources plus the many doctors and nurses are also not so willing to serve in such isolated areas. In this condition, access to internet is the best possible way to learn about health issues. Moreover, the current WHO report highlights, 57 countries with critical shortages amounting to a global deficit of more than 4 million health care workers. This shortage leads to increased problems as it creates difficulties in attending to the patients queries. Hence, online website for pregnant women would reduce the workload on health care workers and would provide sufficient information to pregnant women. According to studies carried out, the state of pregnant women makes them curious about their condition

and they are keen to learn more about their condition. Prematurity Awareness Survey conducted by Hologic, Inc. (2008) reported ...83% feel that it's important to educate themselves on matters relating to their pregnancy. Along with talking to their healthcare providers, they seek information online and in books...It's always good to know about any risks. The more you know, the more you can be aware of signs and symptoms if something does go wrong. Yates (2009) further elaborated in Prematurity Awareness Survey reported and highlighted that, Eighty-nine percent of women want to know everything about pregnancy, including their risk for a premature birth. Thus, there are few websites currently existing which provides information needed by pregnant women to educate them. 1. Google Blog has a website for pregnant women with multiple articles to educate them with the name of http://www.google.com.pk/search?hl=en&rlz=1R2ADBR_enPK331&q=pregnant+wo men&meta=&aq=0s&oq=pregnent+women 2. Wikipedia has its own website for pregnant women with the URL of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pregnancy 3. www.smartmomma.com 4. Natural news.com also provides great amount of information at http://www.naturalnews.com/pregnant_women.html While exploring these sites, few gaps were identified that the sites did not have any association with the hospitals and did not provide the list of health care workers & their contact email addresses, for antenatal mothers to email their queries. This would definitely reduce frequency of clinic visit as well as physician's and would increase customer's satisfaction as they would be well aware of their situation.

Aim & Objectives

The main purpose to develop website for pregnant women is to have knowledge based efficient, effective & sustainable initiative of information communication technology to provide easy sources of information for women.

Other objectives are as follows:

To empower them with knowledge to take care of them selves To reduce worries & anxieties of antenatal mothers To save time of health care workers and physician during clinic visit To Reduce # of visits Decrease economical burden by saving cost on needless clinic visit Decrease staff work load Update new information immediately.

The idea of providing online antenatal classes to women and marking it as one of the main objectives has a whole scenario behind it. Recently one patient from one of the UAE country was admitted at AKUH for delivery. After the delivery was done, nurse identified that the

mother was not able to feed the baby as her breast nipples were inverted. On investigating it was identified that none of the health care worker in UAE checked for the problem and the woman was not given any information regarding it, whereas, in our organization we run antennal classes and during 3rd trimester, teaching is given to all the pregnant women on nipple erection exercises. As a result, mother & baby went through many difficulties and the baby was made to feed on bottle. Therefore, it is vital to have properly developed website for pregnant women to learn about pregnancy related issues and concerns like diet intake, exercises, movements, vaccination during pregnancy, postnatal care and child bearing. This website will provide knowledge & ensure health services via electronic way to provide complete information for users, termed specifically as electronic health.

While developing the website one should consider cognitive and affective information need of the customers

Information needs arise when a person recognises a gap in his/her state of knowledge and wishes to resolve that anomaly... it is the information that individuals ought to have to do their job effectively, solve a problem satisfactorily or pursue a hobby or interest happily' (Nicholas, 1996)

Nicholas, D. Assessing information needs: tools and techniques. London: Aslib, 1996 Countries should also consider innovations. More broadly, greater resources must be directed to develop health systems capable of providing an array of essential services to all women. Women's suffering is not a foregone conclusionif the world has the will to do what is needed. In this study, information-seeking was defined as an action a pregnant woman takes to search for or use pregnancy health information, resources, or advice through a variety of information

sources, including health professionals, mass media, print or electronic materials, social networks, and community sources. Many sites were explore to identify existing web-based resources for this group included Describe the information needs of your group, and cite any references to published studies on the information needs of this group. Identify any existing web-based resources for this group; state how your resource will be different and what it will add to the existing information provision for this group

Reflection
This reflective writing will highlight the issue and concern face while developing proposal for creation of website. Through this proposal writing I realized that since long many groups in my organization not following proper path to generate request for creation of website and as a result numerous gaps used to identify later and always require frequent changes. The unstructured why to do things escort to wastage of human and material resources as well as reduce users satisfaction. In addition customers prefer not to access the site as website not able to provide best services and information. To start with the proposal writing various website explore and identify that only few of them provide enough content about pregnant women or antenatal mothers. Though few website having little details regarding above topic but complete information not provided. Therefore, decided to develop a website for pregnant women. With this decision I explore literature and star writing proposal. When I initiate writing proposal I found it very difficult because in my organization nobody & I never used to write proposal for creating of website. Whenever anyone in my organization would like to develop any website, they just generate an email to information system department (ISD) without any detail. ISD staff then arranges a meeting with requested group and explore what actually would like to have, we expect from our ISD department to develop the website as informative as they can and poor ISD staff need to run behind requested department. This will lead to many problems since complete requirement and proper proposal not have been provided to them. As a result we always balm them & none of the customer would prefer to access our website. To develop website for patients is one of the critical task and it need to be very specific and accurate. This proposal writing helps me to understand the thing wrongly done by users of my organization. I get astonished! and not able to believe it. I don't know why it was happened incorrectly. I thinking, that unsuccessfulness of our website is just because of lacking from our side and we always use to balm ISD. I finally understand and set my mind that, I need to follow proper steps of proposal writing. While writing this proposal I learn how to develop proper proposal writing for website and learn all the steps. This proposal writing helps me to identify that what are the requirement for development of website. It makes me learn that whenever if anyone would like to develop any website or any system should have complete flow of the work on paper before initiation. Further all the content and requirement need to be collected and must added in proposal with its pros & cons. It further enhances my knowledge regarding target group, as developing any system or website without knowing about target group lead to failure because we cannot able to produce relevant content as a result it reduces the utilization.

This helps me to realize my mistake as we used to communicate our requirement superficially to ISD and never develop proper proposal. I realize that we should be vigilant enough as incomplete or unwanted information on website or information which not fulfilling the need of the users is useless to have. I felt embarrassed that my lack of knowledge regarding proposal writing lead to disappointment. This proposal writing having great positive impact on my profession life as it help me to learn alot. This made me learn to be vigilant and knowledgeable about the proposal writing. I discuss same with ISD department and suggested to ask for proposal if any request generate for development of nay new website.
