EXPERIMENT 6

The output of a sequential logic circuit is 1 when the bit pattern 1001 is found. An example of input/ output sequences is given below:

Input Output

11100110100100110 00000100000100100

In this experiment: Design the circuit using D flip-flops and gates Simulate the circuit using Logisim. Design the circuit using JK flip-flops and gates Simulate the circuit using Logisim. Design the circuit using RS flip-flops and gates Simulate the circuit using Logisim.

Note: I. Sequential curcuit design procedure a. Obtain both the state diagram and the state table from the statement of the problem. b. Assign binary values to each state if the state table contains letter symbol. c. For each flip-flop, find the flip-flops input values from the next-state entries. d. Simplify the flip-flops input equations and output equations. II. Please submit your Logisim project using filename groupName_exp6.circ to:

berna.kiraz@marmara.edu.tr in the subject line of the email, please mention your experiment number. Do not leave the subject line empty. III. IV. Due December 15, 2010, Wednesday. Experiment submitted after the due date may cause you lose a portion of your grade.
